F3 F-TRANS: Low CO2 Light Transport Vehicle
addresses the use of Zero CO2 fuels in compression-ignition combustion engines for light transport applications. The Project aims to screen and analyze the raw emission potential of Zero CO2 fuels and other synthetic fuels, the application of a stoichiometric combustion process, the possible simplification and the necessary adaptions of the engine.
- Screening of combustion properties of several Zero CO2 fuels
- Detailed assessment of combustion properties for a subset of fuels
- Development of stoichiometric ("λ=1") compression ignition combustion process
- Exhaust gas aftertreatment system for stoichiometric combustion engine
- Exhaust gas aftertreatment for lean combustion engine with Zero CO2 fuels
